Beach Weekend Part 1

We went to the beach two weekends ago (I am so behind on my blogging!). Christopher went on a deep-sea fishing trip with his work on Saturday while the boys and I "enjoyed" the Atlantic Beach. I say "enjoyed" because while Landon and I had a good time, Carter hated it. He was not too fond of the sand or water! Christopher caught a red snapper and scuppy (he also caught a grouper but he wasn't big enough to keep).

Landon got the mail for me and started opening it. He opened one and said, "Look Mommy, there's a picture of your car!". WHAT??? Yeah, so I accidentally ran a red light a few weeks ago and received a notice stating that I owe the town police $50. This thing was complete with pictures (one showing my car before the intersection, one in the intersection, and one huge close-up of my license plate).

Then I get an email from Christopher the next day saying "Landon told me a few days ago that you ran a red light. He reminded me again today. He also said you are going to jail."!!!

Flag Football Take Down

Landon geared up for running back, but was met abruptly with defeat...in the form of a really big 6 year old. But my baby got right back up and there were no tears! What a trooper!

Landon's 5th Birthday

Landon turned 5 yesterday! He had a Batman party at our church's Fun Zone. The entire family came down to celebrate, as well as a few of Landon's closest friends (Clark, Doug, Sally, Stephen and Mary). He was given many great gifts, including some awesome Lego sets that we have already started putting together.







The Fun Zone has an air hockey table and a large indoor play structure. The kids had a blast!

I have so many pictures to post and stories to tell. They are coming, I promise! I am exhausted from our weekend: we went to a 20s themed party at church, Landon played flag football, we went on our first family camping trip, and went to a birthday party. I am TIRED! And Landon's birthday party is coming up this weekend and I have yet to do any planning for it (uh-oh). I have tons of pictures from the weekend, as well as from our trip to the beach last weekend. Stay tuned...

Adam's 4th Birthday

We went to VA to celebrate my nephew, Adam's 4th birthday. The kids had a great time with the family and jumping in a bounce house, going on wagon rides and driving around in JD Gators.

My Old Tire Swing

While visiting my brother's house (which was my childhood home), I took a moment to reminisce back to this old tire swing. I spent many days swinging back and forth under this old oak as a child. I sat in it, I sat on top of it, I laid through it like an airplane, I stood on it. I played alone on it and with my next-door neighbor/BFF/boyfriend, Chris Talbert. My Daddy hung that swing about 25 years ago. I looked up at that old rope to see it had embedded itself into the tree. It had become a part of the tree, just as that swing is part of my soul, my childhood, my innocence.

Lego Time

Landon has really gotten into "big boy" Legos lately. It has proven to be good Father/Son bonding as well. And given Christopher an excuse to play. Aren't they cute?
