In the van, Landon told me "Mommy, I like it when you sing because your voice sounds nice." Carter's immediate response was, "I yike it when you just talk." O_O
While in the dressing room trying on party dresses, the boys told me that I looked pretty and looked like a princess.
Carter was dipping his fingers in Ranch dressing. Landon asked him, "Carter, do you want to get fat?" Carter pushed away the Ranch and said, "NO!"
Carter's class has been discussing occupations and they are were to dress up as what they wanted to be when they grew up. His choice: a turkey. Yeah. A turkey.
Landon got upset because he stepped in pee in the bathroom. "Somebody peed on the floor!" Um, yeah. It was him.
Landon loves to help me cook. He begs to make "pigs-in-a-blanket" all of the time because he can prep those himself (1/2 hot dog and slice of cheese wrapped in a crescent roll). After making his last batch he told me that he was "a professional at making pigs-in-a-blanket."

Playing Around With Papa
My brother and I have 4 boys between the ages of 3 and 6. Needless to say, it's a crazy house when all of the grandsons get together...I think Papa loves it!

A Day on the Farm: Combining
While in VA for Gracie's party, we went over to the farm while my Daddy was combining soybeans. Daddy is having an AWESOME year for soybeans and has had to purchase a new, faster combine and build another grain bin for storage. We all took a spin on the new machine.
Seeing that old blue truck took me back to the time my Daddy and I were driving to sell beans and the brakes went out. I was just 7 or 8 years old. We spent hours and hours at a mechanic shop while they replaced the brakes. It was a good day. :)

Gracie's 10th Birthday
We headed to VA this past weekend to celebrate my niece, Gracie's 10th birthday. Her party was at a local bowling alley and the boys were so excited to go bowling for the first time. I loved watching the boys reactions as they watched and waited to see what their ball would do. And Carter even got a strike!

Tweetsie Railroad
We took a quiet weekend in October to get away as a family to Blowing Rock, NC.
We headed west on Friday morning and took a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The leaves were beautiful and very close to peak. We stopped at a few spots to take in the beautiful scenery.
We checked in to our sweet one-bedroom cabin at Mystery Hill right next to Tweetsie Railroad (so close that we could hear the whistle of the haunted train at night!) and then visited the Mystery House where we experienced a gravitational phenomenon! ;) The boys had a blast getting encapsulated in a bubble.
Saturday morning, we headed over to Tweetsie. The boys had a blast on the carnival rides, chair lift, train ride, and petting zoo. I really liked Tweetsie. I am not a huge amusement park fan but thought Tweetsie was the perfect size.
After Tweetsie, we mined for gems at a local gem mine, Doc's Rocks. The boys loved finding treasures, including a finger, added in the bucket as a Halloween prank.
We enjoyed local BBQ at The Woodlands for dinner and satisfied our sweet tooth at the Mast General Store in the beautiful Valle Crucis on Sunday before heading back home. We had a great time and enjoyed the short get-away.

A Little Goofiness
For those who know me well, you know that I love to laugh and act like a goofball. I've been told that I have quite a number of facial expressions. We had to test out a camera at work; no better test subject than me.

Landon Update
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. They have been heard and felt.
I am so happy to tell you that Landon's overactive bladder medicine is WORKING! He hasn't had a single accident since starting it. It is such a blessing and relief in so many ways. His confidence is back! He doesn't have to think of excuses as to why he can't go to a sleepover. He is out of nightime underwear (aka diapers) which were irritating his skin and causing him severe embarrassment. The boys wanted to sleep together last night (the bottom bunk is a full) and were able to do that with no worries!
I've got my confident little boy back and my heart is so full and grateful.

Moments Like This
My friend was over and captured this seemingly ordinary moment. These little moments, like helping him with his homework, get filed away in a special place in my heart. Time has been stopped here. He is still young and wild and pure. He's learning that 5 plus 2 is 7. I look at those small, smooth hands and beautiful eyelashes. He's cool in his Spiderman shirt and I am cool in his eyes. Time, that ticks away so quickly, has been frozen here. In 10 years, I will long for this little moment.
Even as ordinary as these moments seem, they are extraordinary in my heart.

Cub Scout Pack-o-Ween
The Cub Scouts dressed up in lieu of a meeting right before Halloween and trick-or-treated from room to room in the church where we meet, participating in fun events along the way like glow stick sack race, ghost blowing, candy corn spoon race, and my personal favorite, a hands-free donut eating contest.
Landon decided to dress in his Harry Potter gear this night. Siblings were allowed to come along, and Carter, of course, dressed up as Woody.

Halloween 2012
Woody and Buzz went to infinity and beyond on Halloween night!
Olive the Ballerina came over and we trick-or-treated around our neighborhood, along with the neighborhood twins (Stephen aka Spiderman and Mary the Bat).
After visiting our neighbors, we drove over to a happening neighborhood. This neighborhood goes all out for Halloween. One house was covered in giant spiderwebs and spiders. Another had a ghost on a zip line coming down from the roof of their house. And Landon's favorite...a zombie who would get in and out of his coffin and chase the kids around the yard.
