During the "Day Out With Thomas" celebration, there were lots of extra things set up at the museum (in addition to the museum's normal offerings such as the model trains): a hay maze, Thomas bounce house, Thomas train sets to play with, an area for sidewalk chalk drawing and bubble blowing, fair foods (funnel cakes, corn on the cob, etc.), etc. The kids had a blast!
They even got to meet Sir Topham Hatt (known as The Fat Controller and The Fat Director in the Thomas books - that cracks me up)! *Doesn't Carter look thrilled?
And what trip wouldn't be complete without a souvenir? Nannie let each child pick out something from the gift shop (which was a circus tent!!!). Adam and Landon both picked out the same thing...separately, a Lego Thomas. Carter picked out 2 Thomas books. But our day was complete when Nannie decided that each child needed a high pitched toot-tooting Thomas whistle! Thanks Nannie.
We all had a great time. There were a lot of people there, but it didn't feel crowded, maybe because it's such a large place. I would definitely go back year after year. Seriously, how cute is Thomas?
