The weekend after Thanksgiving, we decorated the house. We trimmed the tree, lit candles in the windows, decorated the mantle and stair banister with greenery and cranberries and set out my nativity scenes.
We decorated our tree while eating Ritz crackers and squirt cheese (a family tradition).
One of my most favorite decorating memories growing up was putting out our village. I had so much fun arranging my little town with cobblestone streets, park benches, snow, ice skating rinks and many quaint houses. I even put books under my snow to make mountains. I was thinking about that village and called my step-mom to talk to her about it. The next time I went home, she had bought me my first few homes and trees so I could start my own village. This is so special to me.
I hung my fake mistletoe in a door frame. Yes, it's hung with tape...that's how I roll. Landon has stood under it multiple times and said "Mommy, I'm under the mistletoe". Of course, I run over and steal a kiss from my baby boy.
And Snakey the Sneaky Elf has returned. Read about his debut here. The first thing Landon does every morning is search for Snakey.
