Landon Grace Bagley

My very graceful son wanted to show off his catching skills...or lack thereof. He threw his small, but full, bottle of water in the air and caught it with his face! I'm pretty sure we can mark baseball off of the list of possibilities.

Reminds me of myself in 6th grade. I was a dancer, and a very good one. But I decided to try out for the middle school softball team because that's what the cool kids were doing. I caught a pop fly...with my face. Needless to say, I was the bat girl.

Happy Thanksgiving!

In honor of my most favorite holiday, I am sharing a few lunch box "notes" that I drew for Landon this week. I know, I am no artist but my little man loves to open his lunch box for his surprise notes every day. And lately, I've been finding little notes in my purse that say things like "I LWV U KFN B" (aka I love you Katherine B.).

*Aplogies for the sideways picture

Look at my big boy walking from the car into school by himself. He gets bigger and bigger every day.

Still Breathing

Yes, I am still alive and yes, I am still blogging. Life has been crazy and my mile-long to-do list keeps me from the computer at night.

Here are a few pictures that I pulled off of my phone to hold you over.

Little Readers

I am so proud of Landon as he begins to learn to read. This video was recorded a few weeks ago, and he's started to read even more challenging books since.

And it looks like little brother is following in his footsteps (lol).

Will you accept this silly, but cute, little video as an apology for my blogging absence?

First Parent-Teacher Conference

Christopher and I met with Landon's teacher, Ms. Bailey this week for our first parent-teacher conference.

Landon is in the top of his class and is advanced in writing and reading. He is moving up a level in books and could potentially be reading at a first grade level by the end of the school year.

Ms. Bailey said that Landon is kind and nice to his friends and is quite the leader. I asked if that was a nice way of saying he is bossy! But she said that she's seen bossy in her days and Landon is not bossy. She said that he is a delightful young man.

When looking at a class picture, I asked which was Anna (Landon says she is his girlfriend). And of course, Anna was standing right next to Landon in the photo! Ms. Bailey said that Anna is quite the class flirt and used to be Connor's girlfriend, but now she is Landon's. :)

He's got a close group of friends; Connor, Zachary, and Troy. And apparently has brought a little boy named Axlenando under his wing. He's a tiny little guy who's name is bigger than he is! Ms. Bailey said that Landon has been good for Axlenando.

I'm proud of my little man. He's smart, kind, a good listener, and a good friend. Those are all traits and values that you strive as a parent to instill. It feels great to receive confirmation that he is that person. I am one proud mama!

NC State Fair 2011 (Part 3)

And I think we all know how our trip to the fair ended this year (if not, read it here)...

*My window has been fixed with a $100 deductible. Since the GPS and DVD player were not part of the car, we had to file under homeowner's insurance; the deductible was $500 but the goods were only valued at $400.

NC State Fair 2011 (Part 2)

Not only do we love the food, but we love the rides. Landon Bagley loves a Ferris wheel; and he won't sit down in it. He loves to peer over the sides when it stops at the top. This mama had a few mini heart attacks!

NC State Fair 2011 (Part 1)

I love, love, love the fair. But honestly, I love it for the food. You can't get deep-fried goodness like that anywhere else.

The Bagley family made a dent in the fair foods this year; the Mt. Olive sour pickle, the deep-fried pickles, deep-fried Oreos, turkey leg, corn, elephant ears, cotton candy, etc. etc. etc.
