Wrenn - Week 21

Wrenn is pretty much spending her days rolling onto her tummy (and getting mad), eating things like baby dolls, toy giraffes and socks, and looking adorbs. She laughs at so many things these days; tickling her, talking to her, laughing, whispering in her ear. She's a pretty happy girl.

She did fight off a quick little bug (that she got from Landon) - about a day of a runny nose and low-grade fever. I actually took her to the doctor, even though, she was sleeping/acting/eating fine because she was constantly tugging on her left ear. Eardrum looked beautiful! The doctor cleaned out some wax, but I don't think that was it because she has continued to tug at that ear ever since. So 2 thoughts... she found her ears and is obsessed or we have some teething going on (you know how all of that plumbing is connected). She has been super drooly lately.

She weighed 15 pounds even at the doctor (7oz more than 2 weeks ago!).

AND NOW, LADIES & GENTLEMEN, WE ARE UP-TO-DATE ON WRENN!

My daddy is so funny!

Note that she is holding her sock while sleeping

She scooted to the head of the crib where she discovered a new baby doll.
I caught her looking at it intensely and talking to it.

I'm on my tummy. I'm mad. Roll me over so I can do it again.

Wrenn - Week 20

I wish someone would unteach rolling to this baby. She spends her time rolling from her back to her tummy, then getting mad because she's on her tummy. We flip her back over and she does it again. Again. And again. And again. And again. Even in her crib when she's supposed to be asleep!

She's rolled from back to tummy to back once; I wish she'd do that with a little more consistency. You know, solve her own problems?

She tried oatmeal cereal for the first time. She loved it! But kept sticking her tongue waaaaaaaay out after each bite. Silly bird! She's done so great that we've been able to thicken it up quite a bit since she started.

She sure does love her brothers!

Wrenn - Week 19

Wrenn went for her 4-month checkup on April 10. She looked great! She did get a little spooked when the doctor came in; one look at him and she pouted her bottom lip out and started crying. The doctor doesn't think it's stranger anxiety yet, probably just got startled. She was cleared to try rice or oatmeal cereal, and then baby food after a few weeks! Her vaccinations made her feel pretty poopy that following weekend, but I vaccinate her because I love her. Here were her stats:

Weight: 14lb 9oz (52%)
Height: 24.5in (42%)
Head circumference: 42cm (82%)

Family Day Sundays

Sundays are family days in our house. We try to have no commitments and just spend time together; hiking, playing games, watching movies. Anything as long as we are together. It's important to take time out of the hustle and bustle of our busy lives and enjoy each other.

I took a #familyselfie this past Sunday and want to try to keep that going!

Easter 2015

I love Easter. What a wonderful day! He is risen!

Our church had 2 services on Friday night, 3 on Saturday afternoon/night, and 2 on Sunday morning. I served in the nursery both services Friday night and one on Saturday. Christopher served and led the group of Roadies (parking lot directors) for all 3 services on Saturday. What an amazing opportunity to be a part of this special weekend. There were so many new families walking in those doors and hearing about our Savior for the first time. Simple things, like helping them get in and out of the parking lot and finding a spot quickly or caring for their child, impact their church experience, and hopefully made them feel comfortable enough to worship with us again and learn more about Jesus. I just feel so humbled to be a part of my God's army and a part of someone else's journey to Christ. Amen? Amen!

Saturday, the boys and I baked some Easter cookies and dyed eggs. And you can't do that without bunny ears.

The kids worshiped on Saturday night and were looking SO ADORABLE.

The boys woke Sunday morning to a trail of Easter eggs that went from their room, down the stairs, and into the living room where they found their baskets filled with goodies (t-shirt, movie, candy, Lego set). Miss Wrenn had a basket too with an outfit, a book, body wash and lotion and a teething toy. AND? And! The coolest retro Tupperware Noah's Ark toy! ::swoon:: (So...we kind of forgot to show Wrenn her basket until we returned from VA that night around 7. Oops!)

Then we headed to my parent's farm in VA where we had a wonderful lunch and the grandkids played and played and played. We have an annual egg hunt for the grandkids, then a hunt for the kids (me, my brother, sister, spouses, and 2 older nieces). The big kids have money inside their eggs, which leads to some interesting on-the-ground fights over eggs (Ahem, Chris Jones! You shouldn't push your little sister down like that!). I am proud to say that I did not get the least amount this year per usual - that honor goes to Angela, who got 25 cents and a Rolo!  LOLOLOLOLOL

Wrenn - Week 18

Almost caught up with the Wrenn updates! She was 18 weeks the week before Easter, and turned 4 months old! We took her 4 month pictures with her Stickie Bellies (impressed that I remembered? I am!).

She rolled from her back to tummy and everyone missed it! LOL I was in the kitchen. The boys were in the living room with her, but didn't see it. Christopher said, "Ummm. I think she rolled over. You didn't leave her on her tummy, did you?" No worries - I rolled her back over to her back and she rolled right over to tummy and we all saw it. Every time she rolls to her tummy, she gets the biggest smile on her face, like she is so proud of what she's done.

Future Meredith Angel (and odd) like her mama!
